The Rooms top ^
The Russell Hotel has recently undertaken spectacular refurbishments of 371 rooms, developing Contemporary Designer single or double rooms. Other rooms come as Standard or Ambassador rooms and are available as: Single, double or twin.
Standard rooms are classically and elegantly decorated and feature:
- Ensuite bathroom facilities
- Direct dial telephone and modem connection point
- Satellite television
- Tea and coffee making facilities
- Hairdryer and trouser press
- Iron with ironing board
- All rooms are fully air conditioned
Ambassador rooms are more spacious and luxurious than the Standard rooms, decorated in a traditional style. Most are king-bedded, some having two double beds (available on a request only basis). Amenities are the same as the standard rooms except the ensuite bathrooms feature marble fixtures, and the beds are in a classic, canopy style.
The Russell's Contemporary Designer rooms are the ultimate in contemporary style and luxury. Featuring etched glass headboards and light, modern furnishings including specially commissioned beds, comfort in sumptuous surrounds is assured. The rooms have all the facilities of the standard rooms, and in addition have:
- 42" plasma screen televisions
- Multiple-jet showers
- Mini fridge with complimentary soft drinks
- Specially commissioned toiletries.
- Extra beds: a rollaway bed can be added to some standard double rooms.
- Alternatively, a number of the Ambassador rooms contain two double beds and can therefore sleep up to four - these rooms are available on a request only basis.
There are lifts serving all areas of the hotel, but please note there are steps throughout and a series of steps leading to revolving glass doors at the entrance.

Location - Russell Square top ^
Russell Square is the largest of the squares in Bloomsbury - the area north of the West End and Covent Garden. Originally created in 1800 it has recently been refurbished, complete with new fountain, and is an ideal spot for relaxing. The surrounding Bloomsbury district has a slow pace of life, with bow-windowed shops and cafes completing a distinctly gentle Victorian feel. The literary and academic associations in the area are extensive, including multiple university buildings with fascinating histories attached. In the evenings, Russell Square is generally frequented by the local gay community.

Nearest Tube/Main Line Stations
Russell Square underground (tube) station on the Piccadilly line is directly adjacent to the hotel. Nearby, Holborn tube station adds links to the underground network with the Central Line, and Euston Square tube is within walking distance with links to the Hammersmith and City; East Sofia and Metropolitan lines.
